SAFARI SATURDAYS
SPRING 2008

Safari Saturdays just got bigger! We have added classes each month for children ages 3-4 and 10-11 in addition to the 5-6 and 7-9 year olds (please note that the 7-9 and 10-11 year olds are in the afternoon)! Each month, your wild child will join us on an adventure exploring the wide world of animals complete with exciting animal visitors, fun games and activities, as well as great crafts. Each month covers a different topic and no two months are the same! If you pre-register for all 4 sessions (of the same age group) there is a discount on price (all four classes for $40 FOTZ/$52 Non with no refunds available once discount is applied).



LIONS, TIGERS AND BEARS-OH MY!
Ages 3 to 4
Saturday, Apr. 12 from 9:30-11:30 a.m.
$12 FOTZ members/$15 nonmembers

How loud can you growl? Join us at the zoo as we celebrate everyone's favorites, the BIG animals! Giant claws, mighty teeth and big eyes-they all add up to mega animals! We may even practice our gr-r-rowling!


GENTLE GIANTS
Ages 5 to 6
Saturday, Apr. 12 from 9:30-11:30 a.m.
$12 FOTZ members/$15 nonmembers

Everyone loves big animals! Mega animals come from all over the world, from camels in the desert to polar bears on ice to mountain lions right here in North America. Spend an afternoon with us as we trot across the globe in search of the biggest animals we can find!


MEGA MAMMALS
Ages 7 to 9
Saturday, Apr. 12 from 1:00-3:00 p.m.
$12 FOTZ members/$15 nonmembers

What do you call the horns on a giraffe's head? Do bears really hibernate? When do hippos come out of the water? You're invited to join us as we answer these and other questions about the world's largest animals…many of whom you can find right here in our zoo!


SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST
Ages 10 to 11
Saturday, Apr. 12 from 1:00-3:00 p.m.
$12 FOTZ members/$15 nonmembers

Long necks, strong legs and big ears…being big doesn't necessarily guarantee survival, but it sure doesn't hurt! Join us as we investigate the lives of our largest residents and why we continue to be so fascinated by them.

HOW TO REGISTER

Registration forms are also available at www.topeka.org/zoo (please note: payment must also be received before your slot can be held - the online registration form does not allow online payment so you must either send payment via regular mail, drop it off at the front gate, or phone in with payment)

An electronic version can be sent to you via e-mail by contacting the Topeka Zoo Education Department at KHayden@topeka.org or a form may be faxed to you.

Pick up a registration form at the entry gate to the zoo. Complete the form, including payment, and hand it to an admission's clerk at the zoo's entry gate.

All registrations must be received by the Topeka Zoo Education Department with payment in order for your spot to be held.

Refunds are only given if the class is full at the time of registration or if the Topeka Zoo Education Department cancels a program.

Education programs will be cancelled if a minimum of five participants is not met five days before the scheduled class time.
