TWILIGHT HOURS

The zoo is even wilder at night! Bring your family or come by yourself and become part of the nighttime activity at the zoo. Zoo staff and trained volunteers will take you on one of the wildest nights of your life as we explore behind the scenes at some of your favorite animal exhibits and learn more about the animal’s nighttime activities. Bring your own flashlight and be on the lookout for animals looking back at you! Pre-registration is required to join in this nocturnal adventure and the gates close shortly after the scheduled start time and will not open again until the end. Space is limited so put new batteries in your flashlight and send in your registration today (please note: registrations are no longer accepted one week prior to each date)! The fee is $5 per person with one adult free per two paying children.

Think ZOO for birthday parties! Party packages are available for children turning one and older (please note that parties for children turning four or younger are only held outside while party packages for children turning five and older can be held outside or indoors). Both parties include plates, napkins, utensils, a specialized cake from Dillon's bakery, ice cream from Robert's Dairy, and a special gift for the birthday child! Our fun and interactive costumed hippopotamus mascot, Peka Sue, can visit either party for an additional fee or you can add party meals or a behind-the-scenes tour with the keepers. Your party guests can also paint tiles to add to our Education Center's wall for a small additional fee. Parties last two hours and at least two weeks advance registration is required with a non-refundable $25.00 deposit. Party prices are for 12 people (any combination of children and adults) and extra people may be added to either party for an additional fee. Call (785) 368-9137 for additional party information, fees, and availability.
