It's time to Eat, Drink and be Hairy at ZOObilee 2008!

Friends of the Topeka Zoo and Director Emeritus Gary K. Clarke invite you to Eat, Drink and be Hairy at ZOObilee 2008 on Saturday, September 13, 2008. ZOObilee is a hair-raising, adult-only evening fundraiser for Friends of the Topeka Zoo (FOTZ).

ZOObilee will take place from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. on the grounds of the Zoo. Guests will enjoy appetizers, entrees and deserts from 10 local restaurants as well as various "watering hole stations" to quench their thirsts. Guests will dance under the stars to live entertainment from Son Venezuela and the Kansas City Boulevard Band. Special animal encounters will be available throughout the evening as well as sneak peeks of the Zoo's newest exhibits. Watch the orangutans and elephants paint and bid on their artwork, which will be auctioned off during the event.

There are a limited number of tickets available for ZOObilee 2008, so partygoers are encouraged to purchase their $50 tickets quickly. All guest of ZOObilee must be 21 or older to attend. Money raised from ZOObilee directly helps FOTZ fulfill its mission of Education, Animal Preservation and Conservation, Zoo Outreach programs and special events. The Topeka Zoo is home to over 380 animals, many of which are endangered or threatened in their natural habitats. In addition, the Topeka Zoo is accredited by the AZA - the American Zoological Association and is one of only 214 AZA accredited zoos worldwide.
